Add Dry Ingredients for Waffles

Hi! I'm Karen for Expert Village. Now we are going to add our dry ingredients. We are going to be putting in 2 1/2 cups of flour and you want to make those full and even cups. Where's my half cup, here it is and there's a half cup. We have 2 tablespoons of sugar, 1 1/2 tablespoons of baking powder and a 1/2 teaspoon of salt. Now we are going to mix this up and we just want to mix it until it is nice and even. We don't want to over mix it because we don't want to build up any of the glutens and have a doughy waffle. We want to have nice light waffles. Let's just mix that until it is pretty smooth but a little bit lumpy still. Again a circular motion is good and we are stirring with a fork. Scraping the sides and stirring quickly. Now our batter is smooth; a little bit lumpy but that is fine. We are ready to cook.
