Ingredients for Water Magic in Science Class

Hi I'm Karen for Expert Village. Let's do water magic. Welcoe is going to show us how. Were going to need water, a plastic cup, a half cup measuring cup, a pair of scissors, a disposal diaper, some Styrofoam cups, a pieces of plastic, this is a page protector that will be useful, a kitchen strainer, a were going have to use goggles for this experiment. Are you ready to start. Let's put on our goggles for the first part, because were going to cutting open a diaper and it's going to make alot of dust and we don't want to get that dust in our eyes. Put the plastic page protector down on the table and put the strainer there. I'm going to move this stuff out of the way for now. Take the diaper and cut in half right across the middle. Cut that right in half. Now your going to cut straight down the middle the top linen top cut right down the middle. What were trying to get at is the little crystals that are inside the diaper. So we need to open that right up, i think thats good enough. Now hold it empty the contents over the strainer and just shake it a little like this break it up and shake it a little and you want that were trying to get the little crystals to come out of the diaper. This takes a little bit of a time, don't get to much of the diaper dust and also in the paper so some kind theres a fair amount of that. It makes a lot dust. If you feel the cotton you can feel the crystals right on it and just lightly rub them to get as much as you can get. And you'll throw away the extra stuff. Now you'll do the other one, cut open the other one. You can ripe it open too. And again just to if you just rub along the cotton carefully to get the crystals but you don't want to get to much dust. Let's just shake that off. I think this is enough your trying to get as much out as you can. I think it looks good enough of our experiment. put it to side you'll just pick up the plastic carefully and pour that right into the cup.
