Skirt Lengths for Older Women

Hi! My name is Susan Jacobs of Personal Style Image Consulting and on behalf of Expert Village; I'm here to talk to you today about older, better, but not necessarily harder to dress. In this segment, we're talking about length of skirts. When you're wearing a pencil skirt that is a very slim fitting skirt, which is what we have here hanging in the background and what my model is wearing. It should be just to the knee or just a little bit below for the most flattering. If you have great knees, wearing it just above the knee is acceptable, but general rule of thumb is to the knee or just below. For eveningwear, an acceptable and new length is approximately 3-4 inches below the knee for average height. When wearing skirts of that length, you must make sure to wear a heel to balance the look. If you are petite that is not a good recommendation. If you're petite, which is under 5'4", you want to always make sure that your skirt is around the knee length just for added flattery.
