Hairstyles & Makeup for Older Women
Hi! My name is Susan Jacobs of Personal Style Image Consulting and on behalf of Expert Village; I'm here to talk to you today about older, better, but not necessarily harder to dress. In this clip, we're going to talk about hairstyles and makeup. There's no reason to think that because we're 50 that we have to be dated. Absolutely not. There are many, many trendy salon, the stylist are all ages and they have all portfolios of choice of hair for you that will suit your face shape and compliment your look. It's my advice and recommendation to always go with your gut. Even though they're professional and they are skilled in their trade, if you don't feel that what they recommended for you is you, then you won't wear it with confidence. My model and I have 2 different hair cuts; extremely different. Short straight hair. Blessed with naturally curly hair, so I go with the curly hair. That's the hairstyle that I have and it works for me. With Avril's hair, short, flatters her best. She's very petite. It frames her face and she wears it well. As far as makeup goes, we need to keep in mind that harsh colors that are bright and very intense will tend to make us look older than we are. We need to start with the color of our eye and again, seek the help of a professional makeup artist. Go to 2 or 3 and then pick one that you feel comfortable with and that best suits the way you want to look. It has to be about you. Makeup and hairstyle is personal, but there is certainly no reason to be frumpy with hair and makeup at 50.
