Swedish Massage Techniques for the Shoulders
I’m using oil and the amount of oil is very important. I am just using one drop; probably the size of a dime because too much oil is also too much. I am rubbing my hands together because I am warming the oil that way. I am going up the neck and down the shoulder and up the neck and down the shoulder. I am not just using my fingers I am taking my whole body going in there and coming back out again because if I only use my fingers and they are going to be very tired after the massage. I am going to be doing this on both sides. When I am going up I am feeling the neck and when I am coming down I am using my fingers just a little bit more to feel where all the knots and stress is at and trust me, you are going to find a lot of knots in there. You can do the same thing going just with the palm of your hand, going in and coming out. You can either go as far as going down to the shoulder blade and just doing palm circles and you are going to do this on both sides. Now you can start using your thumb. I am not going in very hard. It is more on the relaxing side and finishes it up again by just going up and down the neck. You are going to do this on both sides.
