Tee Box Etiquette on the Golf Course

Hi, I’m Rich Carr from Meadia Heights Golf Club in Lancaster, PA. On behalf of Expert Village I’m going to talk to you about the teeing ground etiquette. Keith and I are getting ready to play a round of golf today and we want to see who has the honor on the tee. So what I’m going to do is flip a tee. As you can see from the tee it was pointing toward Keith so he has the honor on this hole. And I’m just going to demonstrate a couple of things; actually I’m going to demonstrate them how you wouldn’t want to do them. So Keith’s going to go ahead and hit a tee shot here. First thing is you don’t want to stand too close to the player, so what I might do is stand completely out of his view, maybe over here so I can still see what type of shot he hits. The next thing you don’t want to do is kinda make a lot of noise on the tee. So I’m going to be quiet, stand off to the side as he prepares to hit. And lastly, what you don’t want to do, “How’s the wife and kids Keith”, you wouldn’t want to talk to your playing partner as he’s getting ready to hit a shot. So what we’re gonna do here, is I’m going to stand off to the side, very quietly, observe Keith, he’s getting ready to hit and I’m gonna be quite. “Nice shot.”
