Hi I'm Karen for Expert Village, now we are going to roll out the bottom crust of our pie. It is a good time now to preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Let's take out one of our disk of dough, flour the surface just brush a little bit of flour there and put your disk of dough right on there. Take the rolling pin and kind of bang it down to flatten it out, turn it the other side and rub a little bit more flour underneath. Now we want to roll it out, we wnat to roll it in a circle, so you are going to start from the middle and go out from the sides and start from the middle and go out to the sides. If it breaks apart dont worry just put that piece back on and keep rolling. You wanted it to be nice, flaky and crumbly so you can put a little bit of flour on the top of the dough and move the dough aside, put a little bit more flour. Slide it back over there just a light coating of flour. Roll that dough, now when it looks like it is a inch bigger then the plate all the way around then it is ready to go in the pie plate. You can transfer it on to the rolling pin like this and very carefully unroll it into your pie plate. Just ease it on to your pie plate without stretching it just ease it in and if it cracks dont worry just patch it together again. Just ease it in and kind of press it, you dont wnat to stretch it because when it is baking it would shrink up. So you really not handle this dough that much and dont worry if it looks a little bit crack and patched up that is fine it would be a nice flack dough. Then take a small knife and trim off the excess. Gather up that extra crust we could use it to make a cut out and put on top of the pie.
I learned a couple of hints from your video that I can definetly use. Thanks!
