Deck Building Strategies for Magic: The Gathering
What’s up guys? This is Jerome from Gamers Enclave. Come check out our website at www.gamersenclave.com and today I am going to talk to you about deck building strategies and techniques and how to build a deck. So what I have before you is actually preconstructed deck. You have to remember that when you create a deck it needs to have a 60 card minimum. You can only have a limit of 4 of beach card except for the lands and in order to build a good deck you want to have a theme going. The theme for this deck is snakes. What you want to do with a snake deck is very offensive deck and you want to overwhelm your opponent with a lot of creatures, In building a deck you really want to make your creatures the main character of the deck. As you can see here, there are two main cards in this deck which keep this deck going. These are two legendary creatures. Legendary creatures mean that they can only be on the field at one time so you can only have one type of son of schiroy on the field. So if you have one and your opponent has one, then both of them get sent to the graveyard. The ability of this guy is other snakes can choke it plus 1 plus 0 so you have a lot of creatures here and when he gets on the field; their power gets increased by 1. This card Sauchey daughter of Schiroy says that all your other snakes get plus 0 plus 1 which increases the defense of each of your creatures. So it is a good mix and good balance of technique here. You also have a lot of mana producers. These cards here produce mana in order for you to get all of your creatures and your spells faster and to win an early game. Also these creatures have a very unique feature which says that whenever they deal combat damage to a creature, tap that creature and it does not untap during his control his next untap step. So a lot of creature control with these cards here so if you get the creatures tapped, you just keep on attacking. We also have a couple of artifacts and enchantments that help out your deck. Now the difference between an artifact equipment and enchant creature is if your creature dies and then the enchantments on the creature, both of them get sent to the graveyard whereas an artifact equipment if the creature dies, the equipment stays on the field. This card here Hatchery is very useful in this deck because when he comes into play he comes in with charge counters on it and his mana costs is XX so it depends on how much line you play. Its ability is to have 5 and tap himself and put a one one snake creature token into play for each charge counter on it. So basically that helps in overwhelming your creatures. Over run your opponent with lots of creatures. Also this deck has not that much sorcery or instants. It is all about just beating down your opponent just as fast as you can. Little destruction on your opponent’s side. Basically you wan to keep your mana cost low for your creatures in order to win an early game and this deck comes with 24 mana. On building a deck, the average amount of mana they use is about 20 to 25 and basically that is about it. Good luck with building you guys a deck.
