The Main Phase in Magic: The Gathering: Card Strategy, Rules & Playing Tips
Welcome back. I’m David Morgan from Gamers Enclave and I am with Jerome. In this segment we are going to explain the main phase and how that works. I have already gone through the three other phases as it was explained by Jerome earlier and now I am going to answer in my main phase. In your main phase you can play one mana and only one mana per turn. This turn I am going to play my plains added to my mana pool right here. Now I am going to play a creature adding the appropriate mana to colorless and red from my Thunderscape Battle. Put him out there on the field there and now I am also going to play sorcery. Adding one more mana. This is three mana called the herd. Put a three three green elephant creature token into play. Put that out there; that also counts as a creature. Now that is basically it. This is the main phase. Remember this is the only time you can play sorcery, creatures, enchantments or artifacts.
