How to Make Dungeons & Dragons Adventures
Hi! I'm Robert Beverly for Expert Village, and we're talking about how to make your own adventures for Dungeons and Dragons. Adventures are made by the dungeon master and played with the dungeon master and of course the players playing their characters. Essential tools for adventure making are some sort of a blank book such as a notebook, possibly some graph paper, character sheets so you can record non player characters, some pencils because you'll probably make lots of mistakes while you're drawing maps and things, and of course a straight edge. Beyond that, you really just need your imagination because you're going to need to think up good ideas for things that are fun to play through for all of your characters. Things beyond just the basics that are worth looking into are gathering some knowledge of cartography, which is the art and science of maps. Some knowledge of the campaign setting that you might be playing in. If you like to hand draw your maps, of course you can do that, but they also have software as campaign cartographer, which has been published for many years by Pro Fantasy Software and you might want to look into buying that to make more detailed maps for your campaigns. Now you're ready to create some adventures and hopefully host many good games.
