On behalf of Expert Village, my name is Sally Head and today I am going to talk to you about how to nurture your preschoolers imagination. Limit television; remember less is more. While there are great television shows on right now and there are a lot of great commercial DVD's and videos that you can buy for your children, try look for one that will encourage good moral skills or teach about music and art. There are wonderful programs that you can also tape for your child so that you can play at your time that is more appropriate. But I just encourage you, less is more and that studies have been shown that the more your child is exposed more than an hour for preschool, if they watch more than an hour, then their natural ability to be creative and expressive diminishes. Ever watch a child watching TV? They just stare with their mouth wide opened. It is because they are not using any imagination skills. It is all being done for them. So again, I don't discourage TV but all I am suggesting is there is a lot more you can do than watching TV. The best bet is to shut the door and find something else to do.
