Hi! This is Jon on behalf of Expert Village. In this video clip I will be talking about electrical safety. This tool is a double insulated tool equipped with a polarized plug. Now a polarized plug has one end that is larger than the other end. These type of cords will only fit in polarized outlets. If you try plugging in this cord and it doesn't full go in, try flipping it over and plugging it in again. If it still doesn't work, you are going to want to check to make sure your plug is correct. Having the double insulation eliminates the need for the three wire grounded plug cords, so that is why we only have two prongs here. The cord is the lifeline of your tool. You never want to abuse the cord, you never want to carry the tool by the cord or pull the cord to unplug it. In addition, you want to keep it away from heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts. If you are using this tool a long distance from an electrical outlet and you need to have an extension cord, make sure you get one of the right rating.
