How to Use your Facebook Homepage

Hello, my name is Melissa Schenk on behalf of Expert Village. Today we're talking about Facebook and some of its useful, very useful applications. In this clip, now let's discuss the homepage, there's a lot of information on it so let's take a look. If you're not already there, we're talking about the homepage so you want to click on home on the right hand side of your screen. Once you're on the homepage this is basically a page that tells you about the status of what other people are doing on their Facebook site. For instance that's the news feed so you'll know if some of your friends have posted new photos or put up new information or written new wall posts, that the news feed portion of it. On the right hand side you'll see something that people love to do, poke other people on Facebook. You'll notice that Stephen has poked me, now I can either poke him back or I can remove the poke. So if we hit poke, he's going to get a poke back on his Facebook profile back from me. You'll notice a great feature to his birthday's, everybody tends to forget people's birthday's or there are so many people to remember birthday's nowadays. This is a great reminder since you put in your profile information when your birthday is, when that information is coming up, the next friend on your list who's having a birthday, it's going to be written there. The homepage is a great information page to refer back to. As you'll see new stuff, new stuff on the new stuff you'll notice today's new gift. For instance is a cuddled monkey, if you want to give the gift right there you can do that as well. So the homepage really gives you an overview of everything that you can be doing on Facebook and what your friends are doing as well, as you'll notice there on the news feed. Now that we've had a look at the homepage, another very important page is actually called your account page. In this upcoming clip we'll have a look at the account page and also the privacy overview that Facebook offers.
