How to Climb Overhangs on a Rock Wall

Hi I'm Bill with Zoar Outdoor on behalf of expertvillage.com we are here today at a Chapel Ledges at Ashfield, Massachusetts and in this series I'm going to be talking about the basics of moving on rock. Climbing a overhang is changeling is could be a lot of fun. Here is a overhang it present a big budge sticking out of me the face underneath this one happens to be low angle so sometimes they won't be technique is similar and some basic pointers you want to keep in mind. From underneath before I get into it while I still can see what is up there I want to make a plan at least a general idea. Once I get closer I'm going to get right underneath as best as I can then I'm going to reach up for some hand holds on the face. Once I got those going to get my feet right up underneath this thing ready to head and over. Now here is the key feature you want to make this move as much as once as you can cause once you are in the middle of it, it is not easy to stop. You are going to get a foot in here, move way up to a hand hold and then stand up and establish my self in a new face. Now I'm back to face climbing so over hangs get up close to it, get yourself set to make a big move, make that move and stand up on the new face.
