Hey! How you doing? This is Jonathan Escotto, also known as B-boy Xcel, on behalf of Expert Village, and today we're showing you breaking tips. Alright. Now we're going to talk a little bit about our combination. What I'm going to show you now is the monkey flip to a worm to a freeze. I'm going to demonstrate it for you then I'm going to break it down for you. It looks something like this. That again, was a monkey flip to a worm to a freeze. First things first. The first transition you need to learn is a monkey flip to a worm. To try this before you try the actual monkey flip to a worm, I suggest going from a baby freeze to a worm to get you comfortable landing with your toes straight down to the worm. Basically, what I suggest you do is go from a baby freeze here, throw your body up as if you're going to a hand stand, and then go into a worm. The trick to going into a worm is keeping your toes pointed out like this. You don't want to land here because you can hurt your toes. You want to land something like this so your body comes down. It should just like this. From here I'm going to show you. See how I went up very smoothly; same thing. What you want to practice, again, baby freeze, push up, worm. Now, the trickiest part is going from the monkey flip to the worm. Because you're going a little upside down, your mind tends to play tricks on you; makes you think it's harder than it is. It's not as hard as it looks. What I suggest is trying it really low, the monkey flip that is into the worm. What you can do is go from the monkey flip position here, lean back. Same thing; 1, 2, 3, go into the monkey flip. Make it a low little one...and go into the worm and build that up. Continue that drill so you can higher and higher. Pretty soon you'll be able to do something like this. The third part of that would be the worm to the freeze. The reason we freeze at the end of our combination is basically, that's the ending to your story. You start off with your top rock, that's your intro, transition down, your footwork, your power moves, that's your story, your freeze is the ending. What we're going to do now is we're going to go from the worm to the baby freeze. A good drill to get this motion is trying a worm and basically pushing up like you're doing a pushup, so can land back on your feet like so. Here, worm, push. That gets you the momentum to kind of catch and stab. You want to try that a bunch of times, get comfortable with it. When you feel a little bit more up to par, I would suggest trying it on a mat. You can transition to the next step. I'm going to try and do it a little slow for you. Here, baby freeze, throw the worm, bounce, up and catch. When you can throw in your own little style on it, do a one handed freeze with one hand behind you back. Whatever your style is. Basically let's combine all 3 moves. Monkey flip, worm, freeze. Whatever type of freeze you want. Here it goes. There you have it. Monkey flip, worm, freeze combo.
Thanks for the pointers, Xcel, i appreciate it. If you have any more freezes to demonstrate, feel free to show me. Keep it real and God bless you, dude.
