Hi I'm Grady Johnson I'm a professional painter and today I'm representing expertvillage.com. Okay now we are going to talk a little bit about painting a exterior wall. Before we start any painting or even prepping we want to prepare ourselves this is very important because this is physical work and it is outside so we are going to have to make sure that we are hydrated. Most important thing always keep plenty of water on hand especially when you are working outside this would get on you before you know it and you don't want to get dehydrated. Now once you got that cover you want to start thinking about some other things that are goign to be important like a good sunblock for the area of skins that is expose. Wear loose fitting clothing you are going to be moving around a little bit and you want to be able to move around in your clothing and also be sure that you wear dark glasses. Now these are not a cosmetic thing these are really to protect your eyes you want something with a strong UV protection because you are working with pastels and even white colors that are going to bounce that light right back into your face and if you don't have a good dark glass to protect your eyes you could loose 25% of your night vision. It does happen and you need to be sure that you wear good dark sunglasses. Also wear a hat you know this has a little bill it keeps the sun out of my eyes to. Now to prevent any pull muscles or spasms of any kind you just want to do a few basic stretching exercises. So you want to stretch out the arms, the legs, your back. I always start off with a simple roll down through my spine and just hang there for just a little bit. It is really good to do this in the morning just to feel your muscles. Pull yourself back up, grab a hold of your wrist and pull that straight up and grab your other wrist and pull that straight up and then you want to go ahead and drop your arms. Then have one arm go around like this and then your other arm go around like this. Then do some stuff with your legs pull off from side to side, feel that stretch in here. Alright and once you get a little bit of a stretch going, get yourself back up, limber it all out and then once you are stretched out repeat this several times to you feel comfortable. Be sure to do this for about 5-10 minutes before you start that way you prevent any injury. Then it will give you a good limber stretch and it will get your ready for doing this kind of work. It is really simple once you get the hang of it and you could do this anytime you are doing any kind of exercise even if it is just playing a sport. These are just some of the basic things that you need to do to be able to get yourself ready to do any physical work and even when we are painting there is a little bit of stretching involve. So this is how we prepare ourselves for the work.
