Wrapping & Curing Soap Molds for Homemade Lye Soap Making

And now I’m going to wrap it in the towels so these are some of the extra towels that seem to accumulate around the house. We want to wrap it really thoroughly and tightly and make sure that you get the top too. And just keep wrapping this until you’ve got it nice and insulated, this may look a little like overkill, but I want to make sure we’re not losing any of that heat quickly, it’s got to dissipate very slowly. Okay, it’s tight to the cutting board, it’s tightly wrapped. I was going to use a pin on there, but I don’t think I need it, I think I’ll just put one over the top to hold it. Now this will sit in a draft free environment for 24 to 48 hours. Inside there, the soap will be finishing, completing it’s cooking process and the next step then will be to remove this from the mold and allow it to dry and further cure.
