We are going to be mixing all of the oils together and then we are going to heat it up on the stove. Now for the sake of time, I have weighed out all of the oils individually. The first thing I do is take my recipe and I add the ounces of each ingredient and write it down next to it so that progressively I can add things in here and see what the total weight is going to be so far. I am going to zero my scale with the container on it already and start to pour these in. Now remember these ounces and it is critical that you measure these accurately. These ounces are weighed. They are not liquid measurement. Coconut oil; now to facilitate getting it out of the container I put this in the microwave in this container for just a few seconds. I think it 20 seconds. The next is coco butter and it comes solid like this. I used the knife to shave off a little bit to get the exact amount that I needed. We have 16 ¼ ounces of canola oil, that is 47 ounces, scrape it all out because it doesn’t take but a few drops to be a 1/8 of an ounce. The last ingredient is bees wax. I have 1 ounce of bee’s wax that we have shaved with a knife and the grater. Check my weight and I have 48 ounces. Now I am going to pour it in my cook pot. Once again you can use stainless steel or ceramic and it should be generously sized. You cook heat this in a sauce pan and then pour everything into a larger pot but is just less mess to do it all in the same pot. I am going to take this to the stove on a very low setting. It does not matter if it is gas or electricity; very low and gentle. Then we are just going to stir it, keep my eye on it and when things just melt together, your bees wax will be the last thing to melt and when it is down to being small chunks, I will turn this off.
