Tips for Preparing Slides for On Camera Acting Auditions
On behalf of expertvillage.com I'm Lori Wyman from Lori Wyman Casting in North Miami Beach, Florida and today we're going to talk to you about how to prepare for on camera auditions. It's very important when you're auditioning for film and television that you have your sides. That's SIDES, sides are that portion of the scripts that have your particular character on it. Sometimes it may only be 1 page, I just want to show you briefly what a set of sides might look like. Here's a set of sides, we might say page 1 of 1, so you know how many pages you are to expect. The name of the character is also written on the sides. Please note that there might be two sets of numbers, the page number and the scene number. This is very important as you want to make sure that you are working on the correct scene for your particular character. So if I say to you, we're doing scene 29, don't say well I only got page 31 so I didn't work on it. You must make sure that you know the difference. So when you get your sides, make sure you read them completely, you work on them diligently and you know them before your audition.
