How to Memorize Lines for Acting Auditions
On behalf of expertvillage.com I'm Lori Wyman with Lori Wyman Casting in North Miami Beach, Florida and we're going to talk about how to prepare for on camera auditions. I believe memorizing is very, very important, but a lot of people say to me, "I don't know how to memorize, how do you memorize?" Well here's a few ideas, the one that works best for me is repetition. You must do the dialog out loud, don't forget out loud, over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and did I say over and over again? Very good, then another way is to help a friend. Work with a friend, let you friend do the other dialog and you do your lines back and forth and back and forth and back and forth, that can really, really help. Another way is using a tape recorder, you can audio tape the other persons lines and then you can say your lines and listening to the other lines. There are so many tools and ways to learn to memorize, use them.
