Now for a series of defenses against a hook punch which will typically be coming at the head from the side. Hook punch, stop, strike to the face, exit up and behind, up over the ear, down to the throat, come behind the back, down. Again. Hook punch, strike – stop the strike, strike to the face, grab the wrist, push the elbow up and over, drive you opponent to the floor, knee on top of the head. In a variation, hook punch, strike, in, grab the elbow, behind, down.
It isn't emphasized, but it seems that the block is to the opponent's inner elbow, not at the wrist, likely because a hook punch can slit past at the wrist and make impact. I liked what was shown for the takedown, but that elbow break at the end of the video could have been emphasized more, even though it's an alternate move.
No. The block hits the inner forearm, towards the elbow but not touching it; the largest part of the forearm is the target. It seems as though Master Negron is getting closer to Sensei Sherlock's elbow with each block; that elbow break is when his blocking hand is very near her inner elbow.
