How to Release the Angle in your Golf Swing to Correct an Over the Top Swing

On behalf of expertvillage.com my name is Ray Boone and I run the Ray Boone Golf Academy at the beautiful Miami Beach Golf Club. Today I'd like to present to you the topic of the over the top golf swing. Okay, here we go, we're approaching the impact position now, we dropped into the slot, we're in great position to hit the golf ball. The club is approaching the ball from inside the target line, but now we need to release the angle that we created with the hands here. So we've got a 90 degree angle, we've got a 90 degree angle down here so now we need to go ahead and let the club square up. If I kept my angle would be open through impact which sometimes we'll see people that grip the club really tight, they're holding on for dear life and they never release the golf club. A lot of good players may have that problem where they're holding on and maintaining the angle too long. What we really want is to come in from inside and let the hands release, the right hand is going to be crossing over the left hand through impact and that's going to happen in an instant. The more relaxed you can get your arms and wrist, the faster and more club head swings you're going to get as you go through the ball.
