The lady's footwork for the basic in place is right, back, and close, left, forward, and close. Right goes back, close, left goes forward, close. So it is 1, 2, 3, hold 4, 5, 6, 7, hold 8, or quick, quick, slow, quick, quick, slow. It's also rock, step, in place, rock, step, in place. In place.
