Hi! I’m Kate with Zoar Outdoor on behalf of expertvillage.com talking to you about hiking and backpacking. If you start out today to go geocaching, there are some things you should do before you go out. Number 1 is you go on-line and find an area you want to do, get the coordinates and plug it into your GPS. This now gives you direction to where you are going to go to try and find your buried treasure. The GPS only directs you to approximate vicinity of where geocache so you are going to search for it. We’ve actually been able to find this geocache using our GPS and they are not very easy to find. But once you have it, here’s out geocache. We are going to log that we found this and generally you go back on-line and you say that you found this geocache. There’s a stamp in here so that if you have a book you can stamp the site you found this geocache which is a star. We use a notebook to log what you’ve done and how you found it and if you find any other interesting things for the day. If you take something out of here, you are supposed to leave something back in here for the next person who tries to find it. Then hide it back in the spot you found it for someone else to have a fun time another day.
