Mounting Faux Blind Brackets to the Ceiling

Hi! I'm Amelia and on behalf of expertvillage.com, I am here today talking about how to change over windows from curtains to interior set wooden blinds. So now we are looking at the smaller window and this was as we talked about earlier, had an unusually shaped window. So pre-fab blinds you are going to have trouble finding one that is an exact fit so what we are going to do on this one, you can see there is about ½ inch to ¾ of an inch of space on either side. So we really couldn't really do the side mount brackets; it wouldn't allow for support on the sides. What we are going to do is called a ceiling mount; it's not the ceiling, however it is the top of the window frame and we are going to mount the brackets upwards to support the blinds. So the steps are pretty similar and we are going to go through the steps of hanging it upwards rather than to the side right now. Since this doesn't fit here perfectly, you've got to get a little bit more accurate measurements done. You are going to go ahead and mark out the two ends of the blind where it hits the wall. So you will line your bracket up with the outer most edge of what you marked and you want to line the outside with the outer most line that you drew on the wall which was the bracket line. You want to pop up the doors on the brackets before you install them. Sometimes they are a little hard to pop open once they are installed and really don't want to have to be prying on them. So it means you are prying on those screws that you just installed in your window. I'm going to snap it into place, okay. Now this time when we install the valance, we are going to put this corner brackets on it I believe that there's going to be enough room.
