How to Feed Shrub Bushes

Hi! I'm Scott Reil on behalf of expertvillage.com I would like to talk to you about tree and shrub maintenance. I often get questions about feeding your shrubs the reality of it is shrubs really don't need that much feeding, if you have been taking good care of your soil creating a good organic mulch that incorporates into the soil year after year chance are that they are already getting a lot of the food that they need but if you are starting to see yellowing in some of the leaves, if you are starting to see vines stand out some color wise chances are it might need a little bit of a feed. In which case I recommend going organic I often use products like this that is pellet and chicken manure the reason that I use this is because there is some ammonia to this so there is some rarely available water soluble food here so this would get a good quick feed in and again we don't need a lot. For a shrub this side maybe a couple of hands fulls around the base then water it in it is going to create a good extra feed just a little extra push. Again if you have liquid compost or composite this is a great way to add the micros and creature to the soil that are going to help make that ammonia and nitrogen available to the plant and the fertilizer. So again work with mother nature work with your soil, use compost and organic fertilizers and your trees and shrubs would thank you.
