Hi this is Ray and today we’re going to talk about the roquet shot in the game of croquet. Now the roquet shot is where you strike your ball so that it moves forward and hits another ball on the court. The way we want to do that is the following, first thing is if you put the mallet in the front of the ball here, which is where you would strike it the direction you’re going to strike it, you want to have your left foot, if you’re right handed, about to the end of the mallet, you also want it to be about 4 to 6 inches to the left of the plane that you’re going to be hitting the ball in. Your right foot can be placed on the side in whatever manner is most comfortable for you. You want to grip the mallet high on the shaft to make sure that we’re not pushing the ball, if you take a few practice swings make sure that you’re in line. We want to bring the mallet back, bring it forward and hit the other ball. The roquet shot is important because when you strike another ball, such as that, you’re then able to take croquet shots which will help you to set up break and to go through wickets. I hope this is helpful, go out there, try these out, give it a few shots, try some different distances and see if you can make your shots in croquet.
Although this is somewhat trivial, I think it would be a bit better for Ray to be farther left and the frame so we can see more of the shot.
