How to Tape Drywall

Hi! This is John on behalf of Expert Village. In this video clip, I will be talking about taping techniques. The first step for taping a seam is we want to put down a course of mud over our joint. Now if you get this course a little bit thicker, that will work out a little better once we put the tape on. Next we are going to get our tape and spread it out over our joints and lightly press that in. We are going to come back with our knife and squeeze out any excess mud from underneath that tape. After that, we are going to come back over the top again and put another coat of mud. The corner is done much in the same way. We are going to go ahead and put our mud in the corner, and then we are going to get a section of tape and fold it and set it on top of the corner, and we are going to smooth out the tape and get any excess mud from underneath that as well.
