Hi! This is John on behalf of Expert Village. In this video clip, I will be showing you how to hang drywall. After you’ve put your shim board in the ground and positioned your drywall in the place that it is going to go, go ahead and lift it straight up and push it to the ceiling. Make sure that the bottom gets in and the top gets in. Next we are going to ensure that when we put our drywall in, it is positioned on the center of a stud on both sides, because we need something to secure this drywall to. Once we have our drywall positioned where we want it to go, we can go ahead and use our screw gun and put a drywall screw in it. Now with these end ones, I am going to angle them a little bit towards the 2 by 4. When you screw these in, you want to make sure that the screw doesn’t go all the way through the drywall and break out the other side. In addition, you want to make sure you don’t leave this screw out from the drywall a little bit, because the finished product won’t look very good. So what you are going to want to do is just sink the screw a slight amount into the drywall just until there is a dimple. Continue the same process every couple feet. Once we’ve screwed a parameter around our sheet of drywall, we need to find out where the studs are located at underneath the center of the drywall. What we are going to do is measure out 16 inches from the edge of the drywall; 16 inches is right here, so I know that there is a stud located right below it. So I am going to take my tape measure and I am going to hang it from the top all the way down. I am going to let gravity hold this tape measure in a straight line all the way down my drywall; and I know that their stud is located just to the right of this tape measure, so I am going to put screws in all the way down.
