Hi I'm James Adams I'm here on behalf of expertvillage.com and now I'm going to proceed to explain to you about SLI and what it is and ATI crossfire. With that technology basically means is you can if you have one video card in your system, if your system can support it you could put a second one. So now we are looking in the computer in PCI express is the only one that supports this and notice I have two slots for a card. So what SLI means is you can take one video card, pop it in and then you could pop a second one and you could get twice the performance. It is really it is really a future of technology. So once the card is popped in just to show better I'm going to hold it in my hand. Once you get both cards installed your board or computer would come with a connector. What you do is you put the connector in like this and this end would actually be connected to another video card like this. Of the exact same kind. Then you get twice of the performances. As you could see right there my video card can put two monitors at once. If I put a second video card I can technically put four monitors. SLI by ATI is basically the exact same concept except you don't need the connector like the N videos do. You just put the second card in you are good to go. Another thing to notice is right there my board is a little bit old so it has this little card. If you have one of these cards it is very important to notice this right there on top this is normal mode. Right there on the bottom it says SLI mode. So if I were to put a second video card I need to take this little card out, flip it over, and put it in. the way that you do this is you just push on the sides and it pops out like this and you just flip it out. In my case I don't need to I don't have a second video card and it is really easy just with your fingers push out, flip it over. Then you need to go to the drivers to set up the SLI. So now here you SLI card inside your computer now you need to do this thing in windows. All you do is right click and then go to properties. This is the same thing you do to change your wall paper but, you go to settings and right here you go to advance. This is the options on the video driver. You will notice one that says GE force that means 7600 GT. If you have a ATI card it will show up just as well. Then you click on it. Start the control panel. This is the option it is going to show up 3-D settings and right there performance. Set SLI configuration. All you do is click on and there would be a check process. Yes it is ready.
There is a mistake in this video, what he's showing you is Nvidia's SLI, when he says "with ati's SLI you don't need a connector" what he means is that with ATI's Crossfire, you don't need the SLI bridge.
