Golf Warm-Up & Stretching Techniques

This is Johnny Miles from The Lake Powell National Golf Course in Page, Arizona with another hot golf tip for Expert Village. Too many times we get the feeling we’re too important; that life is rushing by and we’re not smart enough to take the time to get to the golf course or some other activity a little early to warm up. So we rush to the first tee and the first shot goes in the pond, and the second one goes out of bounds, and now we’re not in a very good mood. Well, if you don’t really have the time on certain days to warm up properly, which means stretching, hitting a few balls, you need to buy one of these little babies. They’re in golf shops, fine golf shops throughout the United States, and they’re called I Got Ya Warmed Up. Now, what they found out was that the old ring that people put on the end of the clubs can be a little bit more harmful at first than good. So I Got Ya Warmed Up does it in stages. The first one is you put it in the middle of your shaft, and all you do is swing the club back and swing it forward. It’s got just enough weight; it stretches your body out. This little part right here is called tempo. It kind of gives you feel for the golf swing. Then you move it up the shaft to the grip. The minute you swing this, you can feel your hands activate. They really start to respond to your arms as you swing your club toward your target. Boom, just like that. So you’re practicing swinging the club at your target while you’re warming up. The last one; now I’m stretched out I don’t know if I can handle this. I’m going to take it. I’m going to move it down to the shaft end right next to hozzle. I’m going to take the club, I’m going to swing it back and really stretch my swing up. I can actually feel how much shorter I’ve got in the last few years, but this kind of helps me stretch those muscles out so that that first drive goes down the middle instead of that lake or out of bounds. You can buy these in your finest golf shops. They come in different weights. This is called the pro model. They’ve got a men’s; they’ve got a senior men’s and they’ve got a lady’s. You can pick the one that’s best for you, but this is the greatest little gadget. It’s like hitting a bucket of balls in 5 minutes before you tee off.
