This is Julio Anta from Anta’s Fitness & Self Defense Miami, Florida bringing you some classes on children’s functional training on behalf of Expert Village. There’s a big myth going on today that people tell you that aerobic. Aerobic; we call it the biggest lie of the 70s. Aerobic is not good for your heart. It’s not good for your knees or joints, but it’s worse for children that are growing. What we like to do is more interval. Burst training and working out with our bodies, as we can use these 2 benches and he can do push ups between them, or regular push ups but he can do them between 2 benches. Or he can stand up, we can do some plyometrics, jumping back and forth, which gives him explosive power, gets his heart rate up but in an interval way. What’s not good is to spend an hour and 45 minutes jogging, doing aerobics or things like that.
