How to Fill in Dead Space when Decorating your Living Room on a Budget
Hello! My name is Judy Williams on behalf of Expert Village and today we’re talking about different ways to decorate your living room on a budget. When you’re decorating, it’s very important to think about your height as a size of your space as a whole but then broken down. This wall was an example of your space broken down. This painting is on the top. Again, it’s a limited edition print. Beneath that, I’ve used just a bowl with a jar to hold candles. But this table I purchased at an auction very inexpensively. It’s just a wonderful piece that fits here. I have another side to this that I use in another space but this just fits perfectly here. You can see again that just flows and fits that space. In this corner, this is almost a dead space, so I purchased a very tall fern stand, again at an auction. It was very inexpensive. This is the holiday season, so I add poinsettias back here to bring my color back. In other seasons, I’ve used different statues I’ve picked up and sometimes ferns, depending upon the season of the year. You see as I add this poinsettia, it just brings the eye up. This room happens to have 9 foot ceilings, again a very small room. You want to pull the eye up as you decorate. It’s something that’s very important to remember as you decorate on a budget because that achieves elegance. It also helps to achieve order in a room.
