How to Fill & Test Car Brake Fluid

Hi! This is John on behalf of Expert Village. In this video clip, I will be taking you through step 5 in our procedure for bleeding brakes. The next thing we need to do is fill up our master cylinder; since we've bled our brakes, a lot of our brake fluid was extracted from the system so now we need to go ahead and fill it back up. Now if you spill on the engine like I did, you want to make sure you clean that up. Again, brake fluid will eat the paint and take off finish and always remember to put the cap back on. Go ahead and step on your brake pedal to make sure that it feels firm. If it still feels spongy, you may need to go around and bleed your brakes one more time. Lastly you need to drive a short distance and test your brakes to make sure they are working.
