Jump Rope Conditioning for Gymnastics

My name is Sibylle Walters. I’m the owner-director of Flairs Gymnastics located in Davie, Florida. You can find us on the web at www.flairsgymnastics.com. It’s very important in gymnastics that children know how to jump rope and we will do some conditioning. Hailey and Krissie show us how to skip please with the jump rope. One – two, one –two, one leg at a time. The rope swings over your head, very good and a little faster if you can. And stop, very good. Now you’re going to jump rope for me, your feet have to stay together, ready and go. Jump and jump and jump and jump-jump. Very good. And stop. Now we’re going to go backwards, both of your legs stay together and your back is straight. And go. Back and one and two and three, good job Hailey. That’s good Krissie, one more time, backwards is more difficult, ready – go. One, two and stop. Ladies please demonstrate your sit ups for us please. One person holds the other person’s feet and we go. Pull yourself up, very good. Now put your hands on your chest Krissie, please. Keep your head off the floor, shoulders off the floor. Very nice, good, very nice, one more Krissie. And we will be right back.
