How to Walk on the Balance Beam

My name is Sibylle Walters. I’m the owner-director of Flairs Gymnastics located in Davie, Florida. You can find us on the web at www.flairsgymnastics.com. And now we’re going to show you a demonstration on the balance beam for balance. We are walking on the beam, your hands are on your hips and we are walking slowly across, our back is nice and straight. Krissie please. Very good young ladies. Now the second exercise, you will walk on your toes, nice and tall. Nice and tall, keep your balance, very good Hailey and Krissie please, ready. Good, now we’re going to walk sideways, ready Hailey? Step and close, and step and close, step and close. Excellent. Krissie. Very good. Keep your balance, right. And the last exercise is we’re going to walk backwards, which is your most difficult one, feel your foot before you step. Feel your foot before you step. Very good Hailey. Krissie please, feel your foot. Excellent. And now a jumping exercise, ready Hailey. And open, jump on – off, on-off, on-off. Yes Krissie, open – close, open – close, open – close. Very good Hailey. And we will be right back.
