The Finish Position of Your Golf Swing

Hi my name is Kensey Snyder on behalf of Expert Village. We’re going to talk about the finish. Okay we’ve moved past the hit and the follow through to our finish position. As you can see right here all my weight is off my right foot, if I wanted to I could pick it up. When I see professionals practicing a lot of times they do do this. They’ll pick it up just to make sure that all the weight is shifted from their back foot into the front foot. So when I look at people and their finish on video or when they’re just playing, I want to see a straight line up and down the left foot. You can see that I’m straight up and down, that means that I’ve swung around my body, I have not vertically gone up and down this way, which makes it very hard to get to my right foot. I see that all the time. So from here I’m going to move all the way through head, chest, belt buckle, everything looking at my intended target. So if I turn around this way, as I swing through you can see that is a nice complete finish and the finish is very important, it just shows that you’ve made a balanced swing and a complete swing and have turned and made everything necessary happen to produce a good golf shot. So when you’re out there practicing, make sure that you get all your weight off of your back foot onto your front foot straight up and down, and at least hold it for 3 seconds.
