Wireless Internet for Macs

Hi! This is Mike with expertvillage.com. What I’m going to do is a very quick guide on how to make sure that your wireless is setup correctly on your Macintosh. What we’re going to do is we’re going to come down here to our doc, pull up system preferences, of course we’re going to need to hit network right here in the middle with a little double click. The first thing we’re going to do is make sure that our networks status’…Look at that. Well Apple calls all of their wireless products airport. We see that it’s currently turned off so we need to go ahead and turn that on so we need to connect. We click connect and it shows me that hey it’s still turned off. We need to go turn the airport on, wait for a minute for it to start. What it’s going to do is it’s going to look for all of the wireless signals in the area. You need to pick whatever your wireless router’s name is or the name of the wireless network that you need to connect to is and select it. This is going to give you a signal level and you probably, if you have multiple networks to choose from, you want to pick the one with the best signal level obviously. This will give you the most reliable internet connection. We’ll go ahead, now that we’ve selected that, we’re going to get back out of here. Look now we see that our network status we’ve gone from red to green it’s nice and simple.
