Immune Booster Recipes for Healthy Fruit & Vegetable Smoothies
Hi! I’m Nili Nathan with Expert Village. This next smoothie is very good if you’re feeling a cold or the flu coming on. It’ll help boost your immune system and it has a lot of natural healing properties. What I’m using is fresh oregano. This has been washed, rinsed, and pat dried. I’m not going to use very much of it, just a little bit; probably about that much. Next, I have a clove of garlic. By the way, oregano has a lot antiviral and properties in it; it’s great for killing many pathogens, including fungus. It’s wonderful for the sinus infections too; it’s just a great herb. Next, a little bit of lemon with some of the white of the peel and the seeds, an orange that’s been peeled, and half a pear. For my base, I’ve put in here about a cup of water. You don’t want to use fruit sugar or too much sugar if you feel like you’re coming down with something, because it’ll prevent the effects of your immune system. That’s what sugar does, so you don’t want to use that much sugar. Put water in there, a little bit of the oregano, one clove of garlic, orange, lemon, and half the pear. That being said about sugar, I’m going to opt for stevia because it has 0 grams of sugar, 0 calories, and 0 carbohydrates; it’s a few drops. This is a natural stevia that I’m using. Optional is cayenne pepper, if you want that extra kick. Maybe if you’re feeling a little congested in your sinuses, cayenne pepper is always good for that. Let me put my lid on. So that’s it and we’re ready to go. Start on low and work on our way up to high. There we have it. Pour it in. Let me put it here so you can see it. Now, that’s a real…Oh, I smell all those ingredients in there. Here’s the little cayenne that you can opt if you are brave enough. Mix it up and then give that a try next time that you feel like you’re coming on with a little cold. It’s not bad. Garlic, the oregano; this is fantastic. This is going to work. This is going to knock out anything you’ve got.
