Healthy Chocolate Dessert Smoothie Recipes
Hi! I’m Nili Nathan with Expert Village, and I’m demonstrating smoothies. This next one is a chocolate dessert smoothie that you’re going to love. What you’ll need is a frozen banana. You peel it, wrap it in wax paper, and put it in your freezer over night and you have your frozen banana. A few strawberries and you can either use for you base chocolate milk or soy chocolate milk, regular milk, and then you can add unsweetened cocoa. What I’m going to use is cocoa, this is raw chocolate in it’s natural from. Can you see that? There are little bits; that way I can control the sugar content of my smoothie. We’ll start off with…I’m going to use a rice milk and I’ll pour in about 2 cups. This rice milk already has 12 grams of sugar, so I’m going to take that into consideration when I plan my smoothie because I don’t want to overload it with sugar. We’re watching our carbs, our refined carbohydrates. So I added in the chocolate and I’ll slice some of the frozen banana. I love using frozen bananas in smoothies; it really makes everything very creamy. You can even freeze the strawberries too if you want. Put the strawberries in there, and in this one I’m going use just a squirt of the agave because I’m using the natural chocolate so it’s not sweetened. There you go, I’ll put this top back on. You know what; I decided I’m going to do an adjustment. I’m going to add more chocolate, it’s looking a little to strawberrish, which is fine but I want it to be have a little more of the chocolate dessert flavor is what I’m going for. This is all child’s play; you can experiment and have fun. This is a good one to get your kids involved with. Anytime there’s chocolate the whole family comes running out, right? You don’t want to blend it too long in the vita mix because the vita mix is also heats up food. You can make soup in this, so you don’t want to have chocolate soup. Although, that might not be too bad. Look how nice and frosty that is. There is your chocolate smoothie. Now, another good idea that you can do with this if you have some leftover, pour it into chocolate popsicles and you can freeze it and make chocolate popsicles.
