Amazing! I've been looking for milk alternatives everywhere and I had no idea how incredibly easy it is to make this milk. I can't wait to buy a vitamix blender! Thank you so much for this demo!!

Almond Milk Recipes for Healthy Fruit & Vegetable Smoothies
Hi! I’m Nili Nathan with Expert Village. I want to demonstrate to you how easy it is to make almond milk. Almond milk is often used in raw cuisine, raw and living cuisine. People think it’s very complicated but it so simple to make, you’re going to just not believe it. Of course, you can buy it already packaged, but why not make it yourself and you can control some of the sugar and other ingredients that might be in it. The first thing you want to do is soak almonds over night. These have been soaked already. Let me show you how easy it is…I’ll be right back…to soak your almonds. Okay, almonds, raw almonds. Raw almonds in container. I just poured bottled water into the container. That’s all you do for at least 4 hours. You don’t need to do more than 8 hours. So there you go and then it will be nice, soft, and chewing. Here’s a good tip for you little ones, your toddlers, soaked almonds are a really good way to get them to eat them; it’s soaked and it’s safer for them to eat them. Then you go back to your vita mix and you pour about 2-3 cups of pure bottled water. In here is our base. Then we’ll just take like 2 fists of the almonds to begin with, our Celtic sea salt, and I’m just using a quarter of a teaspoon, just a pinch. Now, I’m going to let you use maple syrup for this because I want you to enjoy the taste of it, so maple syrup is fine. If you want you can use agave or a combination or the stevia that I showed you. That’s all there is to it. Then you blend it. We’ll start off low and we work our way high. I keep water near by in case I don’t want it quite as thick; if I want to thin it out. Now, doing this with less water will give you an almond cream that you can use in your baked goods or even pouring over your cereal. That was between 30 seconds and a minute. Look I want you to…can you get in there and see how frothy it is. See that? There’s no dairy in it, but it’s almond milk. Wasn’t that simple and easy? That taste good just the way it is. I don’t need anymore sweetener and I’m able to control my sugar. Now, almond milk is a great base. It’s one of my favorite bases for my smoothies. What you’ll do is you’ll save this in a pitcher. You know what; it’ll keep in the refrigerator for 2-3 days. You want to use it up fairly soon. Excellent to give to children. Almonds are just very high in protein and it’s also a good source of fiber. You can make popsicles with it and your kids will be getting a lot of nutrition and they won’t even know it.
