Detox Recipes for Healthy Fruit & Vegetable Smoothies
Hi! I’m Nili Nathan with Expert Village. The next smoothie I’m going to show you is a detox beverage. You’ll need pears, lemons, flax seed oil, Celtic sea salt, water, and stevia. Those are the ingredients, but before we begin with that beverage, I want to show you what you can do with flax seeds because you can also use flax seeds and grind it into a meal. Pour the flax seeds into this high-powered blender, which will grind it up. I’m going to start on low and work up to high. Put the lid on. See how nicely that works. Now you have flax seed meal. I’m going to store most of this in a dry container so I can use it for the next few days. I will leave some in the blender for the detox beverage. You can use the flax seed oil if you prefer, either way. Our base is water or coconut water; I use water. Then the lemon I will peel except I keep the white part because there’s a lot of vitamins in the white part, and I keep the seeds. Put that in. The pear I just take our the stem but I also keep the seeds and the peel on the pear. Pear is wonderful for any constitution; it’s very gentle on the system. Then I’ll just put just a pinch of the Celtic sea salt, not too much because it is stronger that regular salt so it’ll get salty if you use too much. Next, I put in a couple of drops of my stevia. Stevia is good for regulating our blood sugar level throughout the day. I put a few drops in there and then I put the lid on. As an option, you can put apple in here too. That will give you extra fiber. Then what we do is we start on low and we work up to high. As you’re making this, you may have to experiment if you don’t want it quite as thick. Just add a little more water. I learned how to make this beverage from my friend Robin Sharon while I was reporting on her healing center, the Annapurna Center for self healing, and that’s where I learned how to make it. I add a little more flax meal to it because I like the fiber. This beverage with the lemons, also aides the liver in detoxing. That’s why we call it our detox smoothie.
