String Skipping Arpeggios in Metal Guitar
Hi this Gary Schutt and I’m going to talk to you about string skipping arpeggios. Arpeggios are when you take a chord and you break the chord up into each separate note, for example we’re going to take a B minor we play it on the 7th fret, we’re going to break up the notes to a B and play it on a 9th fret D string. D on the 7th fret G string, F sharp 11th fret G string, B 7th fret E string and another D 10th fret E string. So what we’re doing here D string, G string skipping over the B string and then back up to the high E string. Now we’re going to play a D major which is a similar shape, but a little bit different because we’re doing a major chord, it’s a totally different sound, so we’re going to play the D 12th frets D string, F sharp 11th fret G string, A 14th fret G string, D 10th fret E string and F sharp 14th fret E string. So we have these. Now you can play these really fast, it’s something that’s really cool.
