This is a great, simple craft with good results. 1 thing: Andrew is wearing a dark shirt in the video, making the manipulation of the black chenille stem difficult to see.

How to Make a Pipe Cleaner Bee
Hi this is Andrew Jenkins on behalf of expertvillage.com. Now in this tutorials rise I'm going to be talking about pipe cleaning crafts specifically how to make a little pipe cleaner bee. Now I'm going and I have got in my pipe cleaner of Chenille Stem. In this case I got this little black and white strip or black and yellow rather stripe one and since I want to be a fairly round coil I'm just going to coil it around my own thumb. I'm not going to be to concerned about getting it just perfect because I could worry about that in a second. Now when I uncoil it what I end up with is a kind of irregular looking ball. Now I'm just going to coil this just a little bit more so it has sort of a spherical shape to it and once that I get done I'm going to need to take a black pipe cleaner and my fingernail clippers. Like I said earlier you just cut off a little length of the pipe cleaner to what ever you need. I'm going to coil this one around a pencil cause I want to be a little tighter. This is going to be the head of the bee. bumble bees have a little black head going on the end of him and once that I have that coil really small. I'm going to take the end of it and give myself a little bitty tab and I'm going to do the same exact thing to my yellow and strip one. Now I got these two tabs sticking out. I'm just going to join them together and then give it a little twist. So that is stuck right there on the front of it. That is a bumble bee and it got a little head going. Then I'm going to take my black pipe cleaner and I'm going to cut of a length maybe about a inch long using my fingernail clippers this is going to be the bees stinger. I'm going to bend it over in half so we got a little point on the end of it and I take the two loose ends stick it over the pieces on the other end. The opposite end that we put the head in. take it out here a little bit and there you go you got your little stinger going on your buzzing bee. Now what it be a bee with out wings. We are going to take the remaining length of this black pipe cleaner bend over both ends to the center and it creates this little wing looking shape. I will tie off each end of the wing so it doesn't go anywhere. I don't want its wings opening up and falling all over the place and so I got it like that. It looks kind of like a little Mikey Mouse ears I will take that and I put it right under one of the loops on the yellow and black so it looks like something like that. Your finish product you got bumble bees buzzing around these are great for summer crafts you could put them in your garden if you want to sort of attract other bees they actually do work for that because they are colorful and when the bees see the colors they come right in pawn in your flowers and it actually helps your garden.
