How to Coil Pipe Cleaners

Hi this is Andrew Jenkins on behalf of expertvillage.com. Now in this clip I'm going to be talking about pipe cleaners crafts specifically how to coil pipe cleaners to start moving into more advance crafts. Now I got this dinosaur, this brontosaurs, already made and this as you could see takes a whole lot of coils. The whole thing looks like a green slinky. So when I get to making this first thing first you got to take a pencil and a regular length pipe cleaner. Now you just take the pipe cleaner one end of the pencil and you start you bend it over and you start coiling right like this. All the way down the length of the pencil as far as you could go. If you want the coil to be loose then you could move it all the way down the length of the pencil. If you want it to be a little tighter, if you want it to hold together without bending to much you can keep it really tight like coiled up like I'm doing. Now once you get that done you just slide it off of the pencil and there you go. It holds its shape and you got a nice little spring that could be use for all sorts of things. It could be use for the body of a person, the leg of a dinosaur, the stem of a flower, or a vine if you got something like that. You could even stretch it out like I have just done and make a sort of a telephone wire looking thing if you want to do something like that. Another method you could use is instead of using a pencil you can get something fatter like a highlighter marker and do the same exact process but, what you end up with is a coil that will not have as many loops but me much fatter and then you could see through it a little bit more. Sometime those work best for some crafts.
