Hi this is Andrew Jenkins on behalf of expertvillage.com. Now I'm going to be talking about pipe cleaner craft in this clip specifically the basics to getting to start bending your pipe cleaner and snapping them to more manageable sizes. Now when you get a traditional pipe cleaner from the store they are usually about 12 inches in length. Now these work great for a lot of regular sort of projects but, when you get more in debt with pipe cleaners crafts you are going to want to shorten them. One easy way to shorten if you don't have anything with you is just to bend it over and over and eventually you would weaken the metal infrastructure inside the pipe cleaner and it would snap. Now you typically takes about 2-5 minutes of bending so if you don't want to do that one really easy quick way to go about it is to take a regular pair of finger nail clippers just bring them right in in the middle of the pipe cleaner or how long you need it and just snap it and it comes a part right like that. Now this is a great way to go about it but, you need to keep in mind that over time since you are cutting pieces of metal with your fingernail clippers and they are design for your fingernails it is going to wore down the metal. So if you have a old pair of scissors or hedge clippers something that you wouldn't mind scuffing up a little bit for you pipe cleaner crafts then that may be a better bet to cut these down to a more manageable size.
