Using Bins & Hangers to Organize a Closet

Hi! I’m Katrina Cameron and on behalf of Expert Village, I’m going to show you how to maintain order in a well organized closet. What I’ve done is I’ve tried to maximize space within this closet. I’ve got a couple bins underneath the shorts and the skirts and I’ve separated underwear from more fancy to more comfortable underwear. Then you can also have a basket for things like socks. Then I even have one under here for things like goggles, swim caps and also bandanas. Then the next thing that’s going to help you maintain order is how you keep your hangers in order. So let’s say that I wanted to wear this shirt, so you take it off the hanger and instead of putting this hanger right back here. I’m going to put it at the very beginning of where my closet rod starts so that I know that I’ve always got a couple extra hangers here for when I need to put laundry away or when I need to switch out a hanger that comes home from the dry cleaners. That way also I can see all my different styles of my hanger because you might put a shirt back that doesn’t want necessarily this type of hanger. You might need a spaghetti strap hanger or you might need a pants hanger instead. So when you keep them all together you have a nice selection to choose from.
