Hello! On behalf of expertvillage.com, my name is Bryan Pemberton Reserve at Spanos Park and today we are talking about the golf swing today and we are going to talk about the actual swing itself and we are going to talk about today is just the back swing and how that motion actually occurs and the proper way and the proper back swing. Again when you are actually set up you are going to have your good posture. What you really want to do is make sure you feel the golf club because this golf club really determines a lot of what you are doing as far as timing. When we talk about back swing and what a proper back swing is, what we want to make sure we do is take the club straight back and we are going to be hinging our wrists. We are going to get the club all the way to the top so it is pointing at our target. That is basically what a back swing is. So how far you take it back doesn't really determine how far it is going to go but what you really want to make sure of is that the club is somewhere pointed at the target at the top. You don't want the club pointed back behind you, you don't want it pointed across the line, you want the club pointed at the target and this is what we call a full back swing. One of the things you are going to find out when you take a back swing, a lot of things are going to occur and a lot of things are going to change from your original set up. So original set up is here. When you take the back swing, you are going to actually shift weight and your posture is going to change. So one of the things when we are talking about back swing, just remember to be flexible and try to be a little bit more balanced than if you are making a down swing. Okay we are talking about the golf swing and the back swing. When we talk about back swing again we are looking at back swing, our posture is good. Again when we shift weight, the back swing is going to be some shifting of the weight. Really what a back swing is it gets your body in a position to load the golf club, to actually just to swing the golf club. So think of it as your body is only getting your golf club in a position of a back swing to actually hit a golf ball. If we've got it somewhere pointed at the target and you are in balance, your posture is good, this is what the back swing is going to look like. This really is just a position where your loading the golf club to be hit. We are talking about the back swing. In the back swing one of the things you are going to find that happens, we are going to be hinging our wrists. Again this is one of the components I was talking about. The most important thing in a golf swing is actually getting this motion. So when the back swing is where the hinge starts in your wrists. So when we get at the top without any wrists at all it probably look something like this. With wrists, it's going to look like it's at the target. A lot of times I'll find people that don't use enough wrists they look like this and then they are trying to make a swing that's getting parallel but instead of using their wrists, they are going to use a bigger swing. At this point, I can't see the ball and it is actually too much of a turn, I am actually standing up. To make it easier on yourself, use more wrists and actually you make a better turn that way. So this is going to be imbalance and power. It's not nearly as hard as making a full swing without wrists. So again let's make sure you use the wrists and the hinge and part of the back swing.
