Hi! On behalf of expertvillage.com, my name is Jean Hurley from Siegels Day Spa in Cottonwood, Arizona, and I’m here today to give you some pointers for sports massage. I use a technique called PNF, and that helps the athlete engage his muscles while we’re also giving him stretch and elongation. One technique here for the bicep is to have them hug the bed, the table, which engages the bicep and the tricep so you can see stretch out the muscle towards the elbow. Have him relax. Okay. Again, using maybe 40% of the muscle’s strength. You see the lats engage. Again, just giving stretch to the elbow and relax. Give them a jiggle here, get some blood flow. Last time maybe using 60%, hugging that table, going around the deltoid, into the elbow, feeling the muscles engage, and relax. There you do. That strengthened everything from the rhomboids into the deltoids and the triceps.
