Hi, this is Leslie Sack with expertvillage.com. My website is lesliesack.com and we’re doing Rumba the dance of love and this pattern is called Cuban walks. It’s the third main step in Rumba, we’ve got box step, we’ve got your rock steps in different directions and the third pattern is our walks. So we’re just going to learn them in a straight line and then when we get better and better we’re going to tighten them up in a one little spot cause normally we don’t move a lot in Rumba. So this is the men’s part for Cuban walks. We’re going to walk forward, slow quick-quick slow, quick-quick half of box, side together, the guys are going back, slow quick-quick slow, quick-quick slow, notice how small my steps are. Going forward, slow quick-quick slow, quick-quick slow, quick-quick back, quick-quick back, quick-quick back side together. I’m going to do it facing this way too so you can see what I do with my legs. I’m walking forward as I’m like climbing stairs quick-quick a half of box forward, now I’m going to go backwards, it should be pretty easy just take little steps back slow quick-quick slow. It’s called Cuban walks cause it’s good for your Cuban motion which is the hip action and all that stuff is based on just shifting all your weight. So you’re trying to get one knee bent and one knee straight so it’s easiest when you’re walking backwards to get that feeling, guys get to move too they’re just shaped a little different than the ladies, so it’s okay to move your hips guys.
